A Simple Guide to Cookies

What is a cookie?

Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognises that cookie.

Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently remembering your preferences, and generally improve your web site experience. They can also help to ensure that adverts you see online are more relevant to you and your interests.

We can split cookies into 4 main categories:

Category 1: strictly necessary cookies
Category 2: performance cookies
Category 3: functionality cookies
Category 4: targeting cookies or advertising cookies

Category 1 – Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential in order to enable you to move around the website and use its features, such as accessing logged in or secure areas.

Category 2 – Performance cookies

These cookies collect information about how visitors use a website, for instance which pages visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages. These cookies don’t collect information that identifies a visitor. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. It is only used to improve how a website works.

Category 3 – Functionality cookies

These cookies allow the website to remember choices you make (such as your user name and password) and provide enhanced, more personal features.

These cookies can also be used to remember changes you have made to text size, fonts and other parts of web pages that you can customise. They may also be used to provide services you have asked for such as watching a video or commenting on a blog. The information these cookies collect may be anonymous and they cannot track your browsing activity on other websites.

Category 4 – Targeting cookies or advertising cookies

These cookies are used to deliver adverts more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement as well as help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign. They remember that you have visited a website and this information is shared with other organisations such as advertisers. Quite often targeting or advertising cookies will be linked to site functionality provided by the other organisations.

We may have links to other web sites and once you access another site through a link that we have provided it is the responsibility of that site to provide information as to how they use cookies on the respective site.

You can find more information about cookies by visiting www.allaboutcookies.org

We are constantly updating our teaching and course material. We concentrate on interview technique and making the most of your individual skills and CV. Most importantly, we really enjoy meeting and teaching you, and care about your success.

Why our radiology interview course is so popular and fully subscribed every year:

  • - Fully focused on the new interview format
  • - Consultant mock interview & feedback on every course

  • - Consultant led, prepared and updated
  • - 6 Consultants and No.1 ranked ST trainees are in our coaching team.
  • - PDF formatted course material - emailed before the course.
  • - Course Handbook - containing all lecture notes, past questions with model answers and much more.
  • - Five course lunch
  • - Portfolio review
  • - Help Line - post course email service.
  • - 10% discount on SRA material at mcqbank.co.uk
  • - Full refund up to 4 weeks before the course date or before course preparation material are emailed.

  • SRA PREPARATION - go to www.mcqbank.co.uk
  •  The Speciality Recruitment Assessment was introduced in December 2015 as a shortlisting process. Previously many applicants did not even turn up for interview as the long listing format meant all applicants were scheduled for interview (applying for radiology as a back-up), and wasted valuable consultant interviewers time. It is identical to that sat by GP candidates. You will almost certainly pass this and go on to interview. We cannot emphasise enough that the radiology interview process is completely weighted towards the interview, so almost all your preparation should be directed towards the interview. We have identified mcqbank as the best site to practice past MCQ SRA questions.
  • Receive a coupon code to get 10% off at mcqbank.co.uk when you register onto one of our interview courses or ERJD course.
  • As with all our other courses, these radiology interview courses are consultant led and prepared, so that you benefit from a consultant’s knowledge and direct experience of current ST1 radiology interview process to give you a major advantage over your peers. We have five enthusiastic consultants in our team to help you prepare. They include a Radiology Clinical Director, Head of Service, GMC radiology examiner, Training Lead, Educational Supervisors and Clinical Senior lecturer, who have a wide range of interviewing and radiology experience behind them. The consultants are from both teaching hospital and DGH backgrounds (Oxford, King's College, Imperial, North Middlesex & Hillingdon Hospitals), so giving you the whole breath of radiology experience. You will also be taught by highly skilled radiology trainees, including the No.1 ranked candidates in 2012 and 2014, and the No.1 ranked neuroradiology fellow in 2015. We taught the No. 1 & 2 ranked candidate in the NEW FORMAT interviews in February 2016.

Why risk your career and settle for other radiology interview courses which are run by trainees, when you will be expertly and enthusiastically coached by our highly skilled consultant team, and No. 1 ranked radiology SpR's. We are the only course who have the backing of the Royal Society of Medicine.

These courses are tailored specifically for the Radiology ST1 interviews, adapting to the new format for 2018, fully focusing on the specific knowledge, skills and attitude required for success in the clinical radiology training interview processes. We will specifically target these areas with interactive lectures and discussions, where you will learn from us and the other delegates. Our aim is to build up your confidence, so that you achieve maximal scores in the interview. Just ask all the successful ... and happy ...radiologists that we have taught and coached!

Consultant Leads: Dr Rowena Johnson & Dr Alan Andi.
